Air Conditioning Systems
AC Systems with compressor are designed for use with small block Chevrolet engines unless otherwise stated. Order the corresponding compressor mounting bracket and engine pulleys based on the water pump length and desired compressor mounting location for your vehicle. Kits supplied without compressor are ideal for vehicles that have swapped engines and/or already have installed an AC compressor as part of their engine's accessory drive system. All systems are designed for use with R134A refrigerant.
These are complete AC, heat and defrost systems that are electronically controlled. The unit is interior mounted under the dash and installs to the firewall using the original heater mounting holes. AC and heater fittings pass through the factory blower motor hole with a custom rubber grommet. Step-by-step, fully detailed illustrated instructions are included.
1947-55 system's compact design allows you to retain the cowl vent and a majority of the glove box. Custom molded plenum fits along bottom edge of the dash and has provisions for the electronic slide control and vents. If desired, the plenum can be painted or covered with upholstery to match the interior of the truck. Adding the optional trinary switch upgrade #32-0543 and additional 14" electric condenser fan #32-0542 will increase airflow across condenser to maximize the AC system performance.
1955-59 systems feature high torque electric servo motors to operate the heater valve and defrost functions. Includes custom dual center, left hand and right hand air vents.
