AC Systems with compressor are designed for use with small block Chevrolet engines. Order the corresponding compressor mounting bracket and engine pulleys based on the water pump length and desired compressor mounting location for your vehicle. Kits supplied without compressor are ideal for vehicles that have swapped engines and/or already have installed an AC compressor as part of their engine's accessory drive system. All systems are designed for use with R134A refrigerant.
These complete AC, heat and defrost systems are controlled via cable or electronic operation. The unit is interior mounted under the dash and installs to the firewall using the original heater mounting holes. AC and heater fittings pass through the factory blower motor hole with a custom rubber grommet. Step-by-step, fully detailed illustrated instructions are included.
Cable Operated systems are specifically designed to integrate with original 4 lever Deluxe heater control heads (not included). New cables are included for defrost and heater valve functions. Wire harness plugs into original blower switch, a simple bracket and micro switch are added to operate the compressor clutch. Includes custom dual center, left hand and right hand air vents.
Electronic Control systems include a replica control that fits into the original factory dash opening. Electronic servo motors operate the defrost and heater valve functions.
Brackets and Pulleys
When adding A/C to Chevrolet V8 engines with v-belts a 2 groove water pump pulley and a 2 groove crankshaft pulley will be required. Models with power steering will require a 3 groove crankshaft pulley.
