1967-72 Rear Mount Gas Tank

1967-72_Rear_Mount_Gas_Tank_32-5981

Product Details

Relocating the gas tank to the rear of the truck moves the fuel's weight to a more optimal location, frees up interior room and eliminates gas fumes inside the cab. Gas tanks are made from galvanized steel and fit wood or steel bed trucks. Includes lock ring, gasket, mounting straps and hardware. Tanks have a 1/4" NPT bung that can be used for a fuel return line on trucks modified with a fuel injected engine. Sending units #32-4056 and #32-4057 are available with a quick connect fitting on the fuel feed outlet.
Top fill tank lets you fill the 17-gallon tank easily on the bed floor. When installed, the filler neck is located 3" from the left of the bed centerline. On wood bed trucks this places the filler neck in the center of the wood plank, so no modifications are required to bed strips.
Side fill tank has a capacity of 21 gallons and places the filler neck above the left frame rail for multiple filler options.
Additional parts will be necessary to complete the installation. You will need to add a gas filler neck, filler hose and gas cap; extend the fuel feed line and sending unit wires; and relocate the frame-mounted spare tire. Custom fitting and fabrication will be required. Instructions are not available.
Gas Tank Dimensions:
17 Gallon: 12" H x 19" W x 30" L
21 Gallon: 13-1/2" H x 19" W x 30" L
