1973-89 Rear Mount Gas Tank

Product Details

Replacing a side frame rail gas tank with a rear frame rail mount aluminum tank moves the fuel's weight, adding traction to the rear wheels of the truck. Gas tank could also be used as an auxiliary tank for extra fuel reserve.
This baffled 18-gallon bed-fill aluminum gas tank is flanged for frame rail mounting and includes fuel line fittings. Additional parts will be necessary to complete the installation. A sending unit, flush-mount fuel filler, filler hose, anti-squeak kit and mounting kit will need to be added; each sold separately. A hole cut in the bed floor for the fuel filler, an extension of the fuel feed line and sending unit wires and relocation of the frame mounted spare tire will be needed. Flush-mount fuel fillers are available in polished finish with keyed cap or pop-up twist knob. Order the filler hose for connection between the fuel filler and rear mount tank.
