Increase the cool factor of your truck by installing an A/C System. Kits with compressor are designed for use with small block Chevrolet engines. Order the corresponding compressor mounting bracket and engine pulleys based on water pump length and desired compressor mounting location. Kits supplied without compressor are ideal for vehicles that have swapped engines and/or already have installed an A/C compressor as part of the engine’s accessory drive system. All systems are designed for use with R134A refrigerant.
These are complete A/C, heat and defrost systems that are controlled by a custom electronic slide control that fits into the factory dash opening. The evaporator unit is interior mounted under the dash and installs to the firewall. Custom metal block-off plates for the underhood side of the firewall eliminate the bulky original evaporator/heater box and provide a clean, smooth appearance. A/C and heater fittings pass through the mounting plates with a custom rubber grommet. Condenser assembly attaches to the original mounting locations in the core support. Receiver drier is mounted to the front of condenser with custom tubes designed to fit neatly through the core support to allow for clean, simple hose routing. Kits for non-A/C cabs include dash vents, dash vent panel and templates for cutting existing instrument bezel and glove box. Kits for factory A/C cabs include duct/vent adaptors to work with existing dash vents.
Brackets and Pulleys
When adding A/C to Chevrolet small block V8 engines with v-belts a 2 groove water pump pulley and a 2 groove crankshaft pulley will be required. Models with power steering will require a 3 groove crankshaft pulley.
