Heavy-Duty Track Bar helps with steering wheel shimmy in 4WD trucks. The ball and socket joint used in the OE-design track bar is constructed of a smooth 1" diameter ball that utilizes a nylon bearing surface and nylon preload washer. Given the high lateral loads placed on the track bar, the OE design is destined to fail under even the most careful driving conditions. There is a 47% increase in surface wear area versus OE design. Heavy-Duty Track Bar features a grooved (for better grease retention) 1.25" diameter ball that utilizes a metal bearing cap with a steel spring providing the preload, a rugged case-hardened ball stud housing made from billet steel and an adjustable ball stud end housing that aids in front axle alignment. It is built to withstand the demands of extreme usage.
4WD models built after 2/7/94 feature a track bar with ball stud starting taper of 3/4".
